Xbox 360 Do you use all of the dashboard features?

All of the apps, videos, ect. Do you use them? I just come on to my Xbox to play games, it's all irrelevant to me.
 
You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I don't even know what half of the features are for. Like you said, my Xbox is strictly for gaming. :)
 
Mmm, no... I only play videogames, so I don't take advantage of all the features. Most of the features aren't important to me at all, really. But it's good that they are there, even if I don't use them, because I bet a lot of people do.
 
Just video games. Never have used any of the other stuff (doesn't interest me in the slightest)
 
Good question.
Aside from the first time, because i just love exploring my new gadgets from one point to the other, trying to not miss some important stuff, i didn't use anything more than the gaming part.
 
My Xbox is strictly for gaming and maybe Netflix, but rarely. If I wanted to do anything else, I would just get on my computer, it makes more sense to me.
I have a friend though, who uses it to youtube more than he uses it to game and another friend who is always, I mean always on netflix.
 
I think it's nice to have them sitting there as a choice, but I don't really use them. I just use the Xbox for gaming, and sometimes browsing the demo section.
 
I highly doubt people use any of that stuff, because when you buy a console, you just buy it for games, the rest are just a cheap gimmick to make you buy their console and not another. Let's face it, all we need is a friend list and the ability to play online, the rest is just extra :)
 
I don't even know what half of them are. I just play my games, and get off when I do.

Heheh... agree. Though I bet that those little features do attract the casual crowd, at least?

I have to admit, when I'm trying to persuade a friend or family member of mine that isn't a hardcore gamer to buy a xbox, I do bring up some of the other features it has. The browser, Netflix and YouTube usually help to convince them. I have a few friends really into anime too and since there's anime on Netflix, hulu and Crackle, It really does help, so far it has worked.
 
Honestly, some of these features haven't made sense to me. This however doesn't mean that they are as useful, since I believe others use them. Only that I've not focused on anything apart from video gaming.
 
The only apps I use is Netflix and the ESPN app. Other than that the 360 is just used for gaming.

I use Netflix every now and then and I rent movies on it. I'm sure many use them though. However, do you use all the apps available on your smartphone?
 
Now that I have Xbox Live gold again, I use my Xbox for streaming Netflix. Other than that, and besides playing games (and downloading content), I don't do anything whatsoever. The dashboard really isn't that useful to me overall; I really preferred the original version of it. That one was a lot easier to navigate and wasn't crammed full of advertisements.
 
Not even close. the only thing my Xbox would ever be used for is for gaming and for the ocasional movie via USB. Other than that I used none of the other features. All of them seemed to have a much more convinient way of using them if I wished for me. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't even know what half of the extra features are, I stopped checking a long time ago.
 
I'm not a big proponent of using my gaming console for a whole lot else other than gaming. To me, that's what we have computers and smartphones for. I know my xbox 360 has the capability to stream audio, check my social media, etc, but it's just not as convenient or easy than using my phone. I stream movies using Netflix, but that's about it. I do see the features as a means of attracting more people. I would be interested what percentage of people actually use all the features of their gaming console.
