Have you heard the news? Xbox One now has games with gold, which means you can get 1-2 free games a month, so long as you have Xbox Live Gold. Unlike the Xbox 360 though, you will not be able to play the game if you don't have your Gold turned on. How do you guys feel about this? I personally think it's a little messed up, but they're saying that the games on the Xbox One Games for Gold will be newer titles. Worth it?

When does this start? Everyone has been waiting for this for a long time. I guess they have to do something seeing how they have already done the price drop to 399. I got two emails today state this. One from gamestop, one from walmart. Guess its gonna piss off all the day one people. I got mine day one and can say i am a little miffed at the price drop so soon but i understand. It would be nice to reward the people who supported and spent there full price for day one. I guess gold is a start

its said to start in june.

Xbox One Games With Gold kicks off in June, resembles PlayStation Plus
Xbox Live Gold members will begin getting "subscription-based access" to free Xbox One games next month.

unlike on the 360 where you download it and have it for free you will have to have xbox live in activated mode it get the content.
What stands out about this is the "subscription-based access" qualification: It sounds as if you'll only be able to play these games while your Xbox Live subscription is active, as is the case with PlayStation Plus' Instant Game Collection offerings. We don't yet have all the details, like whether you'll be able to play the free games indefinitely as long as you have a Live subscription or how long the games will be offered for.

junes free to scubscribe/play games are
Halo: Spartan Assault
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood for free.

i do hope it is subscription based and not time sensative.. where its only good for say 1 month than you have to pay to play.

i would honestly be ok with 1 free game a month if its open access and not time sensative

I will truly suck if we only get it for one month before we're locked from the games. I doubt that's the case though since PS Plus free games last as long as the subscription. It would be really stupid of them to make it time-based as it would only give the fanboys one more thing to shoot at.

the details have yet to be released.. i dont think its the case either but who knows... odds are they will be following ps-network to a T which seems to be the trend.. 180's, kinectless ect ect.. microsoft is doing what they can to give a few communities what they want.

the good thing about the announcments.. netfix pay wall, games with gold ,vip room is they released it in may.. and its not what e3 is going to be about. which i am more than thankful for.. this means the e3 press conference still has some potential.(hopefully it will be game related) what i would really like is for them to release the external hard drive capability before games with gold goes live. i would really rather have all of this out of the way pre e3...
as you can tell i am a bit stoked for e3 and what they can do with a press conference with all this out of the way.

It just seems like a poor business model to make them time sensitive. Of course, that has never stopped companies in the past, lol. Hopefully you keep them as long as you're subscribed. The thing I want to know is, say I pay for a month of Gold, then turn it off for a month. The next time I buy a subscription, will I be able to play those games again? Who knows, man. Maybe we'll find out after it launces.
