Xbox One Series S hd install craps out 2/3rds into initialize

We have an XBOX Series S... I am trying to install a new HD, but it craps out 2/3rds into the initalize.. I talked to a tech who said that it's a BR/MB Marriage issues (Wrong Daughter Board not linked to Motherboard) but this is a never been opened XBOX..

Is there another cause for this problem??
