XBox One in will have some tough competition from PS4 which has its home in Japan. But on the other hand if XBox releases interesting games people may be tempted to buy it although PS4 might also release more games at the time.

Yeah you got a point there. so if microsoft plans on topping those two giants they have to come up with something new.

I think there would have to be appealing, exclusive games from some of the 48 developers to actually move wallets in Japan. If the same game is released on PS4 or Wii U or decent ports on Vita and 3DS there would be no reason to really pick up an Xbox One.

I agree. Exclusives really are the only way to go if they want to make progress. Having that many developers is a good sign, so maybe it'll take off. And who knows? The late release might have been a strategic move to ensure games attractive to the market were released around the same time.

That's pretty neat. I am glad that Japanese citizens will be able to take advantage of this new technology. I wonder if they are as excited about it as we were?

I think the timing is really, really late on this. I'm excited about the JP development teams, but moreso for the effect it will have on the US gaming library. I hope XBox One has a strong presence in Japan, but I don't think I'm holding my breath on this one.
