I keep my Xbox One hooked to the Internet wirelessly but lately, the One keeps "losing" the WiFi info. Does anyone know why this is? I know it's not the WiFi because my laptop and desktop never lose their Internet connection.

I'm not sure why this would be if it really isn't your Wi-Fi. Maybe it really is a problem with the One and you need to send it in to Microsoft.

I've had this problem off and on and usually if you just reset your router, it solves the problem. I don't know if the root of the problem is the router or the Xbox One, but I'm guessing it's the One. I have several other devices that never lose Wi-Fi access either, even when the One does. Oh, and I have Comcast Internet; I don't know for sure but I suspect that might be part of the problem, too.

I only use wifi if its somewhere I can't run a wire. My Xbox One on wifi only gets 20/10up but wired gets 85/10up.

I wish I could get 85 down! I'm lucky if I can get 50 down, even wired. I have a lot of packet loss too, for some reason. Honestly I think it's my internet provider because we don't see the download speeds we should see even when we test on any of our computers.

I think everyone is like that. I am supposed to have 105/10 and never hit 105 on any test on any device I have.

If you have a router, give the xbox one a static IP address, make sure it's 'doled' out by it's MAC address.

Do that and if it's still giving you problems like that, toss that static IP on a DMZ.

I have a router but I have no idea about how to assign a static IP address. Do you do it through the router or through the Xbox One?
